Ask, Seek, Knock… He Is Mighty

His Love is not earned, but accepted

Many people spend their lives trying to earn the love of God, believing that if they are good enough, they will be accepted. Yet Scripture makes it clear: God's love is not something we work for, it is something we receive. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) reminds us, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."God loved us first, before we could do anything to deserve it. Our responsibility is not to earn His love but to accept it with humility and gratitude.

Once we accept the deep, unfailing love of God, we must understand it was never meant to be hoarded. God's love is abundant, flowing, and meant to be shared. 1 John 4:11 (NIV) says, "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." When we try to keep His love to ourselves, we miss the very heart of His mission. Love is not a treasure to be locked away, it is a river meant to flow through us to others. Holding it back stifles the life it is meant to bring.

There is also a beautiful truth: we can never run out of God’s love by giving it away. His well never runs dry. Jesus said in John 7:38 (ESV), "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’" Sharing the love of Christ with others does not deplete our supply; it only increases the life and joy within us. We do not have to ration love as though it were a scarce commodity. God's love is infinite, and He delights in pouring more into us as we pour it into others.

Therefore, we are called to love boldly, without fear, without hesitation. Romans 12:10 (AMP) exhorts us, "Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor." Our world is desperate for true, selfless love — the kind that only comes from God. We are His ambassadors, called not just to receive His love but to demonstrate it loudly and clearly to everyone we meet. To love boldly is to reflect the heart of Christ, who gave all so that none would be lost.

Accepting God's love transforms us. Sharing it transforms the world around us. When we live from the abundance of His grace, we find ourselves refreshed, not drained; filled, not emptied. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV) encourages us with these words: "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." Let us love without limits, giving freely what was so freely given to us.
